Isn't that true? As a newcomer, it is hard for me too keep up with the number of really good songs being submitted to this forum. Freddy J

Wait until you hear Rick (No how's) version/entry of the lyrics I put out, in my contest that is not a contest :-) I will mail the winner (probably Rick) a certificate of achievement :-) Check back on 4/15 ;-)

Noooo, it's no contest here mr.Robby .......................just experimentation and play time. It's all relative and i cheat anyway......I went around the sun way more than you guys. There are boatloads of really fresh sounds on this forum. Inspiring to say the least. It's a miracle technology has opened this door for us garage hackers to get our sonic visions out there. Every day i'm blown away by what i hear here. edit:poor grammar

I completely agree!! Definitely some songs and artists that are very professional. Speaking of that, where the new Acrobat's Supper song??? Haven't heard from those guys lately... Dave www.soundclick.com/steakbone

I agree.... lots of really talented people here...... don't commit to a "winner" until you're heard all the "entrys" .... in this project.... that's "not" a contest..... you never know what somebody is creating by the light of a computer screen in some room...... because it hasn't been posted yet.

It's going to be embarassing because it was my song, but several will be better than mine :-) But that's ok, mine's good too. It will be an interesting experiment.

Yeah this place is just a fantastic cultivator of talent. This place is the ultimate escape from boredom. There's just too much happening here to keep up with it all. Thanks to folks like Robbie, who are always thinking and contributing, let alone challenging the likes of us here to push the envelope. The real shame is that some of us just too busy with work and home that we don't have the time to spend cultivating our own talents and writing and sharing our works. I'm at a point where I'm just trying to keep stride so that I can easily come back when I finally get some freed up time. Thanks Robbie for hosting this contest... Even us spectators are getting kind of anxious !!!!! -TAP-

This is my NOT A CONTEST contest, it's an experiment :-) AND I THOUGHT YOU WERE PARTICIPATING?? Or maybe I confused you with Warren? Well, there will be a BUNCH of different versions :-) Should be pretty cool. But the OP about the talent wasn't about those participating in my "NOT A CONTEST", but just more in general terms. This has come up before many times by different people, but I am "continually" amazed by the level of talent, and the diversity of style, it's amazing...

Rick No How, I can't wait to hear iyours. Robby's NOT A CONTEST deal is, well, a contest! Don't you just know that he's sandbagging us?! Well we'll see. He's a pretty sneaky guy! I have met people and learned stuff and founc some working collabs that are helping me immensely. I almost feel like I'm back after being gone for so long.

While the technical proficiency, style and song-craft varies greatly here, almost everyone is nice and supportive. I will say this: talent is a fluid, subjective, fickle thing. Some of the posters here are head and shoulders above the rest, yet no one seems to lord that over anyone else. And I can say with certainty that at least one time a week someone really surprises us musically.

I'm amazed at you guys who crank stuff out in a day or 3. Yeah, when inspiration strikes I can do that with lyrics (sometimes they turn out to be the best, too) but not with comps and mixes. My hat's off to you all.
