Yup very sad, a nice talented guy, I remember him in Vision On in the sixties, remember Wilf Lunn on that too, and Morph, the plasticine little guy too. Wonder if he morphed into Wallace and Gromit? Anyway a sad loss and as Strummy said, another part of our childhood gone.

I don't remember vision on... take hart etc.. was on it and Mr Bennett etc. my era was when john nokes etc were on blue peter.. and goldie was the dog etc.hehe Tony Hart was on with Ricky Gervais a while back, Ricky was ripping the *cough* out of some of the gallery stuff.

I saw the program - very interesting. I have every TB episode and the two films on DVD, now how sad is that As to Gervais, I don't find the bloke even the remotest bit funny - maybe I'm getting too old! He just comes across so smug and so far up his own ass I turn the TV over whenever he appears on it. And BTW, I didn't 'get' The Office either.

Steve I got the office very well , I worked in support and was often dealing with sales people etc. I dunno what sort of environment you work in, but they all have their quirks. I think he's done well considering his "talent" ... If I had to go and see either him or Peter Kaye.. then I'd go see Mr Kaye, obviously Jonbouy doesn't do comedy gigs.. or else I'd have a bit of a dilemma..

haha.. Eric .. I know her from the money programme (bit before my time).. she did have an affair with a co-host on BP.. that came out of the cobwebs about 1 or 2 years ago.. it was more ironic as they said about how the recent hosts some went off the rails.. yet that's going back years. although dunno if you ever saw the will young video? she was rather *coughs* errr annoyed about not getting paid for the footage they used. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SP-CEFUdkRk I remember seeing that on tv and thinking it was cool how they mixed it up. I think it was err Lesley Judd ? when I was watching it... I was born the same year life on mars is set.

I think that is cool . . . unless the only track you still play is "Parker, well done" A bit of a "filler" track there, I always though so, but I think the Joe 90 theme is a cool sixties classic, I often run it through the PA to introduce my band......... EDIT Additional info, it you want really 60's cool listen to this The Shadows do the Thunderbirds theme Must admit I still fancy Lady Penelope after all this time !!! My favourite rescue of all was their first one, the Fireflash landing, Virgil did a heroic job on that one, and Barry Grays fast music - here has to be as good as any film score ever written to create a feeling of tension and excitement, listening again now, I can still see the beads of sweat on Virgil's brow as he locks those wheels up COME ON VIRGIL YOU CAN DO IT MAN !!!!............ I'm getting carried away again.......... Garry Kiosk

ORIGINAL: ericyeoman Hi, Getting back to the original topic, did you know Tony Hart was an officer in the Ghurkas? it doesn't surprise me he was an officer, I couldn't see him in a pie and mash shop.. although what went on recently with the Ghurkas , did seem a bit "messed" up.. they wouldn't give em UK passports or were a tad begrudging about it.
