OT: Warning about Gigabyte K8U and Easytune 5...

Hello,

In my way to optimize and configure my new system (take a look here if you're interested. Sure, I have a goal to achieve the smallest latency possible but it is not related to this actual post).

A couple of weeks ago, when I first installed Sonar and XP Sp2 on my brand new dual-core system (AMD X2 with Gigabyte K8U-939) I was really surprised and deceived to hear multiple click and pops even at high latencies when only playing a little piano patch on sfz or any cpu-light vsti). I was completely clueless as I had tweaked the machine the best I can.

After several hours of investigation (and headaches), I finally found that Gigabyte EasyTune 5 (an utility made to look at different values on the MB: CPU and case temps, fan speeds...) was causing the glitches in audio. As soon as I removed the offending thing, situation has come back to normal...

So, if you have a Gigabyte board and have a lot of audio related problems, uninstall this horrible thing first...
