Excited me enough to fork out $55.

Geeeez Dave - Now that you went ahead and bought this, that means I'm going to have to go that route too!

BTW -What are you using it for/on????? Are you impresssed??

Right now, I'm learning how to work it. I just mixed a song with it across the drum bus. It thickens things up and also adds some air. I can't post a sample as the song is not available for distribution at this time. If the composer wants to share a link to the tune he's welcome to do that.

I'll post something up as later. Right now I'm fried from mixing and I want to do anything but music.

I haven't really checked out how the sound is being changed, but WOW! What a great interface! Choice of colors, dynamic mouse-over dials, this is a big step forward!

Tapebus gets used alot around here - on the Master using a modified version of the "Tape compression" preset - on Strings and definitely on the Drum buss again using a modified version of the "Convincing Drums" preset

Interested to hear what this sound like..........

Hey Dave :)

I bought it too (along with Analog Flux for the heck of it). While i'm not blown away by it, it does have a certain nice quality about it. So for the price, I'm not disappointed.

How much I'll use it, not sure. But it's nice to have in my arsenal.

Has anyone compared Cakewalk's Tape Simulator with Tape Bus or other plugs in the same category like this new Voxengo one? I personally think Cakewalk's Tape Simulator sounds great. What about you guys?

That's pretty much my feeling too. $55 bucks is pretty short money to have a problem solver in your collection.

Has anyone been able to do an A/B with PSP Vintage Warmer yet? If the results are comparable, it's less than half the price...

I don't see this as a "replacement" for PSP VW. I use VW on my master bus at all times. Sometimes I even add MORE compression - like Sonitus Multiband - before it, because, aside from VW's own features, it works great as a brick wall limiter.

I even have one project (heavy dance stuff) with this:
Soniturs Multiband
PSP VW
Boost 11

I know, crazy - but for that project it worked lol.

However, VariSat isn't quite the same as VW. It seems to have it's own place in line (for me) so far.

Just bought the VariSaturator, registered it, and we'll run it thru it's paces over the next few weeks. I've purchased many of the Voxengo plugs and use most of them pretty consistently anyways, so what's one more?

Sigh...lately it seems I *have* to buy a Voxengo plug or two a month even though I have a whole collection of plugs...but I'm smiling while doing it! And his whole "20% or more discount if you buy two or more things" just sucked me right in...I just got the Varisaturator *and* the Soniformer to add to my collection...

Has anyone else had the demo crash sound Forge 9? It works fine in sonar for me.

I downloaded the demo and tried it out. Quite nice for $55 bucks. I love the color options too, nice feature!!! I'll be adding this one to my "arsenal" .

Yes, I've got several projects where I was initially using the CW Tape Sim... slapped over a (sampled) drum bus... and later on I changed to AF Tabe Bus. The Voxengo is better but the CW plug is no slouch and I could live with it if I had to. The Tape Sim can get a little harsh if pushed whereas the AF is more organic.

Cool!

Thanks a lot Jboy. I wish there was a way to install only the Tape Bus plugin without installing the other plugs that come with the Analog Flux suite. I'm not insterested in them, but we'll see.

Take care!
