O.T. What do you see for my avatar?

Is it 7 fiddles or is it a red Strat?

I see fiddles when I'm logged in, a Strat when I'm logged off.

    Red Strat.

Right click the image when you're logged in and see what the listed location is. Is this the same location the image has when you're logged out?

everyone has both an online and an offline avatar availalble.  if you don't choose separate ones then it defaults to use the same one for both.  but in your profile you should have a red strat for offline and fiddles for online.

I think Beagle is right and you have two avatars. One for when you're online and one when offline. Right now you're online and I see the fiddles. I was fooling around with my avatar and uploaded two avatars. One for online and one for offline.

Here is my edit profile page showing both of my avatars. Yours should show both of your avatars as well.

Internet Explorer? IE has different levels of granting javascript access. It could just be a matter of tweaking an Internet Options/Security setting. Safari may be the same way.

Thanks. I had done all of that, but it won't let me delete my first avatar so I can't replace it.

Have you tried selecting Don't Use Avatar and saving that setting, and then uploading your avatars? That should effectively reset your avatar.

you shouldn't have to delete anything to get a new one.  when you upload a new one the old one should be replaced automatically.  just make sure you're clicking on the correct link.  the upload for the ONLINE avatar is the link that says "UPLOAD A FILE" (on the left) the upload for the OFFLINE avatar is the link that says "ALSO UPLOAD AN OFFLINE AVATAR" (on the right)
the two links are separate functions.

Have you considered the possibility that your Red Strat has achieved self-awareness and is messing with your mind?  I knew someone whose Gibson SG became sentient and then tried to terminate Sarah Conner.

I don't know what happens when 7 fiddles become self-aware.  I'm guessing that they promptly form a self help group to deal with their Strat Envy.
