OT:Using SoundClick On Your Myspace

Some of you have mentioned using Soundclick's player on your Myspace pages due to the low quality bit rate of Myspace's default player. Can anyone tell me if it will still track the number of plays? If so, can someone tell me how to do it? Thanks Travis

Yes, the number of plays for each song is tracked by the SoundClick player and the stats are viewable from your SoundClick account. But, it's the total number pf plays from both the MySpace and SoundClick accounts, and any other places where you use a SoundClick player, so you can't tell which website the plays actually came from.

    Hope this helps!

It' really easy, Andy. Just click on "widgets" from the menu of your SoundClick page, choose which player you want to use, select the options for the player, and copy the html from the box into one of the areas of your MySpace page under "Edit Profile".

Bob...I consider myself pretty knowledgable on online stuff( I have written web pages in html before) but I don't have any options like that anywhere for modifying my myspace page. I have been frustrated trying ot use the help because it refers to things that don't show up with I press "edit profile"(for example, there is no place to "insert html" on any of my "edit profile options.). I have gotta be missing something simple. I tried both the "edit profile" button on my homepage and it only gives me a tabbed menu with 5 options(Upcoming shows, Band details, Basic Info, Manage Songs, Listing info) but no way to actually edit the page...and this is where the Myspace instructions say to start! Any help would be appreciated. ThanX!

Yes, the directions they give is for non- musicians, ordinary signed- up folks.

I had to figure it out too.

In the tabbed menu (the 5 tabs) I think remembering you have to take "band details" and "edit" for example "bio" and paste the code in there.

    Hi, Andy,

Hugo is correct, first click on “Edit Profile” then select the “Band Details” tab. Next, choose the area you want to insert the player into, Headline, Bio, Members, etc. I have my player in the “Bio” section, to do the same, you would scroll down to “Bio” (the second section after “Headline”), then click on the word “Edit” at the right side of the section, and this will bring up the html box to paste the player html code into. Then just click the “Preview” Button to make sure the player is working, and, on the next page click the “Submit” Button. That’s it your all set to go, and you can check your stats from your SoundClick account.

    Hope this helps!
