Oberheim vsti recommendation: which is the best vsti emulation?

I am going to purchase one of the Oberheim vsti "clones".  I have owned NI Pro-53 for years (yeah- it is no longer offered), but will purchase either the Arturia (Prophet V or Matrix 12V) or the Sonicprojects (OB-XPro-II).  Both Arturia and Sonicprojects have holiday sales that makes these affordable and actually only a few dollars difference.  I have downloaded demos of these and immediately found a big difference in the number of presets between the two (Sonicprojects has 1500+).  Both sound great.  [Before someone asks, yes I also already have the free Obxd with its many free presents].

I greatly value the input and advice of you softsynth experts here on our Cakewalk software forum; I need to hear the recommendations especially from you Oberheim connoisseurs for this topic.  I am only going to purchase one of the two.  So--
which one is the best bang for the buck?
which one do you guys recommend (and why)?
or is there another premier oberheim clone vsti that I have overlooked and should consider?

Thanks for your advice.

It appears the Sonicprojects website has not been updated in some time? The sale appears to have been going on all year long.

I picked up the SonicProjects package last holiday season because I thought it sounded great and was a great value.
That being said - I have not really used it because of other shiny toys that came my way.

I have owned several real Oberheims so I am pretty familiar. Sonic Projects OPX Pro II is excellent. The free one is not bad but not in the same class. Arturia Matrix 12V is also very good. I don't own it but I have checked it out a few times.

I have Obxd too, I love it, but somehow it always loads up with no preset banks default (I have to manually load a bank every time in order to play any patches).

If you were to choose between Arturia and Sonicprojects, get the Sonicprojects. I heard all the Arturia emulations all kinda sound the same as each other.

They definitely do not. I have several of them. They sound exactly like the synths they are supposed to emulate.

Not saying which is "best" but I don't think you would regret getting the Arturia Matrix V. One of my favourites in the V collection.

The Analog Lab is a fast way to get a tour of Arturia. It has selected presets from all of their synth models.
