Oblivion

A work in progress...in fact I'm in the writing stage! Unfinished, no mix, no thrills- no frills ;) Sometimes it's fun to see how it all started...well anyways-https://www.reverbnation.com/daylight/song/27683279-oblivionwork-in-progress

Enjoy,
Bill

Epic sounding piece, sounds overly compressed to me, but you say a work in progress so lets wait and see where it goes.

Daryl, actually I'm in Scotia but figured Schenectady is close enough....24" of snow here. Wookie, I did some compression on the 2-track just to try and make this presentable ;)

I like it. there is mixing work ahead, but the ideas are certainly well developed. It's very powerful.

Uh, I've been as guilty as anyone in using the ocean as a background pad - and I've grown leery of it, sort of a cliche at this point. It's a fine cliche, but when I heard the ocean I went from enjoying the guts and power, to kind of an eye roll. Just my .02 seashells.

I love how prolific you are and I know you'll make this a good one. I'd like to hear it when it's mixed!

    cheers,
    -Tom

Thanks Tom...I hear ya with the "ocean", it's actually wind but it sounds like the ocean to me too! This is going to be part of an album called "A Curious Rain"... the wind will be swapped out ;)

    Nice WIP Bill,

Like others have said, there is more work required on the mixing. Some percussion needs to come up in the mix perhaps (or other elements set back).

Nice arrangement, for sure. Has an Epic feel about it

    cheers
