October 25th, 2014

Hi all.

This is another tune I did with Mike Vlaskis. Mike and I recorded about thirty tunes and put them out under the band name "Geronimo Cowboys". So, I guess this is another Geronimo Cowboy tune.

I wrote the music, played guitars and did the mixing on this. Mike wrote the lyrics, sang and played bass.

I normally keep track of my tunes by the day I open a new project file to begin recording - this one happened to be October 25, 2014. So, when I sent it to Mike, that's the title it had. When it came back - it still had that name and the lyrics mentioned October 25th, 2014 - so it stuck.

Makes me wanna be a cowboy baby... I think the vocal performance is better suited to this style of song, much better than most cowboy tunes. Guitars sound great, good job Mark.

what a fun tune! Interesting things going out throughout....one thing that did stick out to me...it seems to be a bit sizzly to me and I'd like to see it warmed up a bit....not sure if its a compression on the master or not...and it wasn't at all a deal breaker just a bit etched.

    great job guys!!

Hi Tom, thanks for taking a listen and for the comments. I think I mixed this one a bit hot. I didn't feel like remixing the whole thing - just lazy I guess - so I left it.

    Thanks again.

Interesting tune.  Raw and rough.  Classic CLEAN guitar sound.

There is a lot to like about this mix...drums sound great, bass thumps nicely, guitars are perfect for this style. All around good job.

October 25, 2014 What a great day for putting together a terrific number.  What a great attitude to this number and what a creative number.  Excellent delivery on the vocals and of course that CLEAN guitar sound just can't be beat!!  This number helps define the term Cool.

This is really laid back. Love the lead change!  Very reminiscent of the Doors. Nice story telling!

Vocal performance sounds a bit like Kenny Wayne Shepard meets The Little Willies - which is super cool & different.

Some good southern blues kickin' off in this tune guys - great feel, stopping for a drink mid way through then getting back on the musical horse, great drums + guitar work - good job!
