Odd Buffer Bug in v. 7?

If I stop playback in the middle of a tune and then rewind to the beginning I hear a split second of what was playing before right when I start playback. And if I export right after rewinding that bit of sound caught in the buffer will be exported and heard at the start of the WAV file.

Anyone else have this same problem? Is there a fix for it?

I have the same experience, but do not have any work-a-rounds as of yet. If you find a solution please let us know.

There is an option under Options -> Audio -> Advanced labeled "Play Effect Tails After Stopping". See if that solves your problem.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I've seen something like it from time to time. But only if the audio engine stopped. If I manually restart the audio engine, some remainder gets played. (And that's the only workaround I know of.) I'm tempted to believe this is partly the audio driver's fault (Alesis Dice). What's your interface?

BF: That worked. That option was not checked. After enabling it the problem went away! Thanks. I guess by having that option enabled it allows the buffer to fully clear that last bit of sound - without it that last tail stays in the buffer and clears upon resuming playback. I hope anyone else who is having that problem sees this post.

bvideo: I use a Focusrite Saffire LE interface. I updated from an M-Audio Mobile Pre to that one because it is 24 bit. Have to say though, that it is more quirky than the M-Audio - which never gave me any problems at all. But the audio definitely sounds better - so I can deal with the little things.

I updated that interface, as well as going from Sonar 4 to 7, and also bought an 88 key semi weighted keyboard (M-Audio Keystation Pro 88) all in the same week. That was a mistake - several little quirks showed up (like the one above) and it is a slow process to isolate just where they are each coming from.

I would just recomend to anyone else to maybe learn from my mistake - that whenever they are going to make major updates in the components of their workflow setup - do it one at a time and allow some time for troubleshooting before doing the next update.

Thanks again for the help BF.
