Odd request: want to run 32-bit version of Adaptive Limiter or Boost 11

Hi everyone

I have a bit of an odd thing here. I'm running SPlat on 64-bit Windows 10 - works fantastic! I also have an older version of Sony Vegas Movie Studio which is 32-bit, and I don't see the need to upgrade to a newer 64-bit version, just because it doesn't really give me any new features, and my video editing needs are fairly meagre. However, Sony Vegas Movie Studio doesn't come with a limiter. So I'd like to use Adaptive or even Boost 11 in Vegas.

How do I install the 32-bit versions of these plug-ins?

Thanks!

Neel

I believe Adaptive Limited is a VST3 locked to SONAR. To get the 32bit install option, either run the install manually or enable the Verbose Install option on the settings page of the Command Center. Click the gear in the upper-right of the CCC to get to the settings page. Since Boost11 is part of the SONAR core, it may be easier to run an advanced install of one of the older versions of SONAR containing Boost11 to get the one plug-in.

Firstly Vst3 plug-ins are 64-bit. But you could possibly transcode them using a software wrapper like jBridge. This sits as a virtual host. Another thing though is it may looose some of it's ability with added latency.

VST3 plug-ins are not 64bit only. SONAR includes 32 and 64bit versions of Adaptive Limiter.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I guess I can re-install an older Sonar copy and just grab the Boost 11 plug. I have X3 Studio, X2 producer and X1 Producer - do you guys know offhand which one(s) contain Boost 11? I have X3 locally, but I'd have to re-download X2 or X1.

    Thanks

Run the advanced install option of X3 Studio to get Boost11 only. The basic/advanced option is a couple of screens into the install process. After selecting advanced there is checklist of items to install.

I had to reinstall x1 in 32-bit to allow me to access an older cat instrument I have as it won't work under 64-bit at all.

There are plenty of free VST limiters out there, certainly that will work better than Boost 11 for you.

I don't know where I read that 64-bit thing. VST3 allows 64-bit processing however not 64-bit only as I incorrectly stated. All my plug-ins are 64-bit where possible, although I had to reinstall an older version of Sonar X1 to make use of Superior Drummer 1.6 which I prefer to the new interface at the moment. The sounds don't playback in 64-bit for some reason.

Anyway I never actually tried to separate the Adaptive Limiter as I only use Sonar.
