Off to see The Fab Faux tonight [20 Sept 2014]
And I have a t-shirt with my avatar (a full 10"X14") to wear to the concert. The old-new owner made it for me.

I saw them play walrus on letterman and it was uncanny. Even the vocals were amazingly lennonesque. Do wonder if they get bored just playing Beatles transcriptions. Should do some ruttles covers too :) just wish will lee could do the McCartney mannerisms as well as Eric idle.

IMO they enjoy what they do and don't dress to be them. As they say at every show "This is our classical music and we love doing these shows for you". In my experience, it is true.

Twas a grand time. The first set was mixture of songs. 20 minute break. Second set was Abbey Road in it's entirety. Did I ever tell you about the time I crossed over AR with bare feet?

On the way there I played a CD with 5 covers of The Fab Four's tunes that I was involved in. You Won't See Me (with Liz and Daryl) Come Together (with Mooch) Day Tripper (with Mooch and the singer from my high school band days) Ticket To Ride (With Daryl) VSTs (aka Yesterday, as done by The Forum Monkeys)

Glad you had a good time. I saw a Beatle cover band at Tahoe a number of years ago. They were good. I especially liked hearing live the instrumentation (same guitars, amps, drums, that the beatles used). From an engineer's perspective, it was fun to see how those sounded live. The Beatles really knew how to arrange their parts for a quartet. Loved it.

What kind of instruments do they play? Does Will play his usual bass?
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Hofner, White Rick, Fender Jazz and on Bungalo Bill a Fender 6 String bazz. He plays thru a Super Beatle Amp. The guitarists mostly use Fender Band Master amps I think (I was 10 rows from the stage, but just far enough to not quite make out if the were BandMasters or Bassmans). Guitars were nearly everything under the sun, Teles, LPs, Epi's, ES335, Danelectro, Martin acoustics (6 and 12 string). With the help of roadies they would change guitars mid song to "get it right". Two sets of drums. One for early stuff and one for later stuff. Three keyboards (two synths and one "piano"). Tangerine Dream strings (Cello and Violin). Hogshead Horns (four players of saxes, flutes, trumpets and coronet). Small footnote on the horn players. The wife of the couple we wend with dated one of the horn players 30 years ago. Last but not least. Dahni Harrison came out to play and sing Savoy Truffle in the first set.
