Officially...

this is my first day of a vacation...and because of
computers I'm enjoying my morning coffee trying
to correct all the BS from simply trying to update
Guitar Rig 4.

So now I have a rant. Thank you Native Instruments.

I spend hundreds of dollars to suffer with trying to
get my PC back together because of...well now that's
the problem isn't it?
One expects to do a simple task and wind up trying to
get their PC working again.

Just restore....yeah, right. Why? Because...because the
**** doesn't work...after all, all I did was do an update..something
they said would correct problems THEY had with THEIR **** that
I bought.
Well that mistake won't happen again. I bought a 25 dollar program
that worked perfectly.

Starting my third attempt to restore one of the most common PC's
sold. If it all where a guitar I'd yank the strings off and show
those rockers how to really break a guitar....and nobody could rebuild it.

To top it off I have to use Firefox to even get on the NI site because it
says I'm not using IE8 when my PC says different...man I have to deal
with software that even argues when I'm not even envolved. What
a bunch of crap. I think I'm going to go back to analog....or quit recording.

Personally my time is worth more to me than fighting with this BS.
I'm way to redneck for this. I've never let anything or anybody push me around
like this digital **** has. Just pissed beyond being reasonable right now.
Kinda glad I don't have any M-80's...I'd love to pile all this **** up in the backyard
and blow it to hell.

Rant over?....I hope so...I have a vacation to enjoy doing the things I enjoy...music
use to be one...hope it is again soon.

Now when I scan vst's it locks up my PC when it gets to the
    GuitarRig 4 64bit dll.
5th attempt at system restore...nothing but failures to restore.

Mike for the money I've dumped into this digital **** I could have
more amps than I have room for.

And to top it off my wife just spent two hours with Alienware support
so a tech can come to the house and fix a $4,500.00 + PC that
has blue screened since the first day.

Starting 6th attempt to restore...it may be the last thing this PC ever
    attempts.

Ok...now I'm wondering if I should be doing this in the bathroom.

I'm installing and a window pops up...please select a driver for you HARDWARE product.
and gives three choices...now how in the hell am I suppose to know?
I chose VST and it gives; Rig Kontrol, Session I/O, Guitar Rig Mobile I/O.

Any ideas so I can pick a driver for my HARDWARE?

Oh Ed....I haven't forgotten anything and I'll remember all of this everytime I see NI anything.
I can assure them....they'll never, ever, see another dime of mine.

I uncheck them all, cuz those are NI products I do not have. Simples.

I just installed Guitar Rig 4 (the one that came with X1) yesterday on my re-installation of all my software and unchecked those drivers as well (I don't have any NI Hardware). I haven't done a VST scan from X1 yet, but I'm hoping I won't run into this prob. when updating my stuff from NI....

Glad to see you're gettng back on track. Even with the software/hardware issues NI causes, the truth of the matter is NI makes excellent products (especially Kontakt) and I'm more than likely going to buy stuff from them in the future........most likely Komplete 8.

I have had install problems with Kontakt before, but it ended up being a hardware issue, actually.  my DVD drive was not reading well for whatever reason.  when I used the other drive it worked fine.  of course the install didn't completely crap out until the last disk, and it took like 10 hours to install THAT far.

using the new drive only took about an hour, I think.

Did you install K8 onto your HD, or do you just use the USB drive to stream the sample content from?
