Off-topic: Killer UAD Fairchild setting for thin vocals and acoustic guitar
Hey folks,
For all you UAD users out there- if you have a thin/nasally vocal or tinny acoustic guitar try using the Fairchild 670 and turning the DC Bias knob down all the way.
This allows you to turn up the input a lot and drive the tube circuits more in a way that really warms the sound up. (You'll then need to tweak the threshold and output gain as well.) All the way down may be extreme, though, so once you hear the difference between the default setting and all the way down try something in the middle according to taste.
I discovered this after years of ignoring that little knob and can't believe the difference it can make.
Peace,
Tunes
