Ogg Vorbis importing

Hi! I'm a Bandhub.com user, and like to be able to mix my music offline, in SONAR X1. I've searched the FAQs and Help listing, but cannot find if SONAR can import Ogg Vorbis files, which are used in Bandhub. I see others directly importing them into Cubase, Logic, and other DAWs. I've already tried the External Encoder Utility, but apparently it is only for exporting. I've had to convert each individual track from Ogg to Wave in an audio editing program which is time consuming. Does anyone know about importing Ogg Vorbis files directly into SONAR?   -Jim

In one of the post-X3 updates SONAR added the ability to import/export pretty much anything. However unfortunately for you, I don't think that feature existed in X1.

Audacity is free, is a more than decent audio editor and can import Ogg and export wave files or vice versa. It is a bit of overkill for a simple file conversion program, but it is likely to be useful to you in many other ways even if SONAR is your main audio application.

Craig, Thanks for the reply. I suppose I either have to A. Keep doing it the way I'm doing it or B. Upgrade to X3. Thanks again... -Jim

David (slartabartfast), Thanks for responding... I use Sound Forge for most general audio editing which works great for me... I've also used Audacity, which also seems good. It's just that extra step I wish I could eliminate. Apparently SONAR X3 can import .ogg files directly, so unless I upgrade, I guess I'll have to do it the old way...  -Jim

Sonar X3 has not been available for 2 years.

Current versions are Sonar Artist, Professional or Platinum.

If you have X1 you still have an opportunity to upgrade to the latest version at a discount. After April 30 you won't get a discount for being an owner of an older version.
