Oh, Amp Sim, where art thou?

I know Amp Sim was simple, I know it was basic, I know it's been superseded by snazzier options, but I LIKED IT AND IT'S GONE!

*And it worked simply and easily.

The old FX series plug-ins are slowly being discontinued. Few were ported to 64bit. I did not notice AmpSim was dropped from X3. It was ported to 64bit and included through X2. It will take an advanced install of an older version of SONAR to get the old FX AmpSim plug-in.

Same answer as always with these things: if you have old install disks, you can run them, choose custom install, and only add the plugins you want. I've just checked, and I've still got it working in X3. Not sure what version it came from, but definitely X series. Indeed, from memory, I think it might still be a non-default install option in X3.

Quite apart from that, though, Amp Sim was appalling, and I highly recommend going cold turkey and getting it out of your life. :)
