Oh Woman

Hi folks and thank you for all your input and mix suggestions to my earlier five songs. Here comes number 6 Oh Woman in which I succeeded to have both a sitar and a brass section haha. Very strange isn't it. Would be happy for all your comments about it. http://soundcloud.com/egon1/oh-woman

This song has an interesting arrangement which works well for the song and its various instruments.  It has texture and depth, always two good elements to have in a mix.  I like this song, and it's only a mix away from being gem.  I liked the vocals, but I heard some pitch problems, both when the vocal is sung alone and in the harmonies.  It's not much, and can easily be corrected without having to redo the takes.  The other issue is minor, too.  The panning is quite narrow for my taste.  I think if you spread some things out to the sides, certain instruments and parts, like the sitar, would be easier to hear and the mix would open up.  These are quick fixes, and this song is good enough that it deserves a little more attention.  Hope this helps.

All the best,
Lynn

On the spot of what I need to hear Lynn thanx for your advice I will follow up on them. I have not worked with pitchtools until for a few months ago when I found that function in Cubase that I have as a DAW. You and Old55 seems to be listening at all music here so I am very glad you took your time to comment my song. I try to comment others as well if I got something to say. And I appreciate you liked the tune.

Thnx Marcus and yes, I usually try to be a little unique with sometimes a little strange tours of harmonies. Glad you liked it.

Hey...I agree with Lynn here that you need to tighten up the mix some and fix the panning.  Very interesting song structure...good to hear writing 'out of the box' so to speak...if you do anything else on this, please repost it...I'd like to hear it.  :)

The brass (the 'ta-da-ra'-part) is a bit to loud in the mix, in my opinion. I like your voice. It's interesting.
