Ohm Force Ohmicide Stupid Deal questions
I got the Stupid Deal of the day from MF this morning. It's $29 for the Ohm Force Ohmicide plug. What I wonder is how that gets registered. I haven't got room (am not interested) for an iLOK and haven't really found out much about using it with Sonar X3e PE(see my signature). Anyone using it? Thanks Michael

You'll get an email either from MF or Ohmforce with serial No. info. No iLok required. It's a great plug and works well with X3e. (Check your spam folders)

It's dangerous to sign up for the Stupid deal of the day because every morning there's a new temptation dangling in front of you. I stick to the under $50 deals to keep away from the pour house.. I do love the CAD C9 pencil condenser I got for $34.50 can a few weeks ago. Redoing a bunch of Dobro and Mandolin track as a result. Have the CAD TSM 411 Dynamic on the way, it was same price. You have to get up real early to get some of them, They had a Tascam 4x4 interface for only $50 a few weeks ago and I missed it. I don't need it, but who can resist a deal like that! Most of this stuff is discontinued items there flogging to clean out the warehouse.

Sorry to the OP for the confusion. I was trying to reassure him that iLock wouldn't be required and didn't even consider he had purchased physical media. Everything I buy these days is download only. Instant gratification baby! LOL.

When I bough Ohmicide on sale last year, they sent me a box containing a piece of paper with a download link. LOL!
That said, it's an awesome sounding plugin. Some complain that it's too "extreme" sounding, but the whole point of it is that you can mix in a little distortion or go all out for pure insanity. It has some awesome pitched feedback that you can pan in stereo. And everything is full automatable so you can get some truly wild evolving sounds. Well worth reading the manual because it's quite an involved little plug if you want good results from it. My only complaints are:
1) The GUI. It's a little small and fiddly, they've definitely gone for form over function.
2) The preset functionality is awful IMO, instead of presets you get "banks" consisting of 12 presets. Only the bank can be named, not the individual preset, and as far as I can tell it doesn't indicate the name of the bank you're using after you select it. This can lead to disaster if you tweak presets in a project then you decide you want to go back to the bank defaults, only to find you don't remember which bank it was. Oh well.
3) I've had a couple of Ohmicide related crashes in the past, usually when I've been tweaking things like mad for ages. So it's worth remembering to save frequently as you're using it.
