Ok guys...couple of questions.

After searching, I am finding some older posts regarding the Fantom VS and Windows 7 64bit.  I just bought the vs700r (to match my vs-700c).  I am having two problems:

1. I have a Motu 2408.  When I enable the drivers for this soundcard, the vs700r drivers grey out, and I can only use one or the other, not both together.

2. When I enable the 700r, I go to insert vst instruments, and the Fantom is not there.  I can not figure out how to get it going.  Any help guys?

FTR, I love the 700c.  I REALLY hope that I can get it all going correctly.

You can use them both together. Remove the 2408 drivers, remove the PCI 424 card from your computer. Hook up the 2408 via ADAT to the V700R. That will be one of the ADAT outs on the 2408 to the ADAT in on the V700R. Get your 2408 manual out because you have to set the 2408 unit up from the front panel buttons to work in standalone mode. I don't remember the exact setup at the moment but you have make the V700R the master unit and the 2408 the slave unit. Sync them with a BNC cable.
Basically you're going to enable the audio inputs and digital ADAT outputs on the 2408. The digital 2 inputs for the V700R will show up in Sonar.
I assume you were using ASIO so you can't run both drivers at once. I did not try the WDM/KS drivers. That route might work also if you don't want to remove the 2408-PCI 424 harware-software.
I've had my 2408 Mk III hooked via ADAT since I got the V700R and it works great in standalone mode, adding 8 channels via ADAT.

Yep, ASIO only allows one soundcard.

WDM will allow multiple soundcards, but you'll have to try it to see how well it will work.

    Hi bigboi

The Fantom (and ARX if you have the board installed) are included with the Sonar 8.5 installer. If you run the installer again, choose custom (Advanced) installation and only check the Fantom (and ARX if available) it will install that component.

If you're using Sonar 8.0, apply the 8.02 patch installation that came with the VS-700 installation disk (one marked Drivers, Sonar 8.02 Patch, and Fantom VS editor).

    Thanks!
