Ok ... here's what I don't get about the Pro Channel ...

I can 'Undock' the Pro Channel so it floats around my screen like any other VST.

So why can't I put it in the 'Multi-Dock' like any other Channel Strip?

Because you can also, "expand a channel," on each individual track.

You are not undocking the pc...  you are undocking the inspector...   therefore an inspector can not multi-dock..   whatever the rules are that they created...

First let me start by saying grats on the 1234 Soens.

I didn't know you could undoc PC either.

Sigh, I need like 2 more monitors now.
I was thinking 3 would be nice but now it seems 4 would be sweet.

    One for Track View.
    One for Console View.
    One for VST's and/or PRV
    And now one for PC.

That should make things a little less cluttered.

Only question is...WTH am I going to put my near fields?

How are you doing this? I was unaware it could be done and I see no way to do it.

I dunno how I did it ... I just clicked the little 'Undock' icon thingy up in the upper left corner of the Pro Channel and the whole thing came undocked and started floating around my desktop. I guess it's called the 'Inspector' ... but it holds the Pro Channel, and the undocked screen changes when I click on a track.

Bub,  what you're discribing is not "The Pro Channel",  it's the track inspector window.

Yes, you are right. The Track Inspector houses the Pro Channel.

I'm just thinking about this whole scenario again because for the first time since I've been using X2/X2a, and I've been using it heavily the last couple months, I had a module become unresponsive in a project like I was plagued with in X1. It was the FX Chain Module. I had an EQ in there with a steep cut to the low end on a guitar. I was A/B'ing it with the On/Off button of the FX Chain Module and it suddenly stopped responding and it was stuck on even when I had it off. I ended up having to save the EQ settings in a preset inside the VST, remove the FX Chain Module, and reinsert it.

But I really can't complain ... it's the first time it happened to me since I've gone to X2. Considering what I went through with X1 ... it's ok. But man, I wish I knew what causes this.

It's because the Console has everything the Inspector does (aside from Clips and Track Properties) inside it so it would be redundant. Neat thing I learned yesterday... if you hold Ctrl when clicking the little expand ProChannel arrow in the track strip PC module it will open the ProChannel on every strip in the console.

I like having tha abilty to move the PC, but I mostly keep it to the left and collapse it to save screen space when not using it.

Beepster I had remembered that and then forgotten it and then re-remembered it again. Thanks.

    @Starise... ;-)

A couple dumb things they need to fix with the Inspector is to make the strips scrollable and have an option for a scrollbar (and a scrollbar option on the PC). To me those are huge oversights. What program ANYWHERE doesn't have scrolling for major features in 2013. Very silly.

I agree. I get around it pretty well though with my mouse wheel in PC.Just a guess, maybe they were attempting to save a little screen real estate.

If I click in PC I can scroll with my mouse.

Yeah, the PC scrolls but apparently at one point it didn't and you had to buy Expanded so it would (WTH?). The reason I bring up the scroll bar option is because my trackball scrollwheel doesn't play nice with Sonar so I use scrollbars for many things... but I have to have a second mouse attached just to scroll in the PC. It's pretty hilarious in a pound head against the desk way.
