Ok nerds...help with CPU/Motherboard here, please

This is an older Intel server board, but I was hoping one of you cats would have some sort of concrete path to knowing CPU compatability.  I'm having a hard time figuring out EXACTLY what processors are supported on this server motherboard:

S5000VSA4DIMM

Note:
It's NOT the S5000VSA4DIMMR

I'm going to withhold any info I've already got so as to not lead you or mis-lead you.  Just when I think I've got it figured out, I don't.  Maybe YOU can figure it out??

Thanks in advance, guys!

It's amazing how many different docs you can pull up on a motherboard or chipset series.

This doc leads me to believe that this particular motherboard maxes out at:

    1:  5300 Series - X5365 - 3.00 Ghz

    2:  5100 Series - 5160 - 3.00 Ghz

    3:  5000 Series - 5080 - 3.73 Ghz

Ok fine....but I'm trying to figure out WHICH one of those would be the quickest - the best and final upgrade for this system.

Looks like the 5000 series is the only one that supports Hyperthreading.  And I'm already running a pair of the 5060's @ 3.2 Ghz each.

I'm just not sure if ANY of these processors are going to make much of a difference.

    Anyone have thoughts on that?

Here's a list of CPUs compatible with the LGA771 socket. 3.73GHz does appear to be the top end.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Thanks Frank, but this is actually the motherboard I've been using for about 4 years or so.

I'm simply looking to upgrade the processors to the MAX this board will allow.

Next step from there would be to build a new system, which would probably be a dual-quad xeon or some sort of i7 hot rod.

I'm trying to avoid any sort of full-on build to save a little cash.  Even though this one is 4 years old, it's still a sick machine...and I've got a lot of bread invested in it, so I want to squeeze as much work out of her as I can.
