Okay, so I'm in a bit of cautiously silly/cheerful mood at the moment...

so you'll have to forgive me.

Got back from the hospital earlier for a follow up. The thing the doctorbs have been telling me I have for the past decade that supposedly makes heart stuff randomly do funky things (including exploding leading to sudden death)... well after a special test it turns out I don't (or likely) do not have that thing.

That means it's likely some other equally rare (or moreso... or even "I'm the first one to EVER be diagnosed with this new thing") thingie causing my issues.

BUT... at least it seems to have been determined I most almost definitely don't have the thing that leads to random heart explosions.

The mystery lives on (which is annoying) and there will be more tests but I'll tell ya... I'm pretty happy that I'm not doomed to chest cracking surgery or sudden death.

That is not a good thing to have laid on you in your late twenties and have nagging at you into your late thirties.

Can I haz lief again noaw?

They're thinking mine is kyphoscoliotic (expialidocious).

Seriously though... I don't mind the tests. I'm used to my physical pain now and seem to be able to manage it. I just ain't quite ready to die. If all I gotta do is get poked and prodded and twisted in a pretzel every now and again that's okay with me. Just as long as I have time to finish my "work"* on this planet.

*muahahahahahaa!!!!!

Seriosleez though. Hope you're doing better Billy o the Bayou. Sounds like you are in general but for some reason the lifey poop keeps getting flung at you.

Perservere, Billy!

Well therein lies the rub. If it turns out to be this NEW thing then there is the same potential for things to explode... but not really REALLY important things like the other thing does. So it would be bad... but not like "need to be on an operating table within twenty minutes" bad.

If it turns out to be the VERY specific version of THAT thing then it sounds like it's limited to mostly skeletal and less critical connective tissue... which explains the chronic pain.

Pain... well it sucks but I'm used to it and set up to deal with it.

The randomly dying thing... well I guess I was prepared for that too after all this time but seriously I was not cool with it... yet.

You guys that deal with chronic pain are really special people, amazing how you can do it and still make music!

Being cool with dying, well I've got that one down, on a bright side it does makes for some great lyrics!

Good news on the heart, and hey, if you really do have something soopa-rare then maybe you can earn some $$$'s allowing yourself to be prodded by rooms of chin-scratching boffins with clipboards?

My uncle had his first heart attack in his 30's and eventually died of one in his 50's. My granddad died of a heart attack too. So I've always been worried about having inherited the potential for heart problems. Having said that, my dad is in his 70's and has never had heart issues, and mine seems to tick along quite happily at around 55bpm.

Thanks all for the kind werdz. I should have replied sooner but I think this has been hitting me a little harder than I expected... in a GOOD way.

Still lots of questions and things to worry about but somehow having that ever looming/impending threat of death and/or radical surgery lifted... well it changes one's outlook juuust a tad. Things are different now.

Anyhoo... looking forward to hopefully experiencing another Beepso rennaissance and chalking a lot of this up to "builds character". lulzity...

@RobbyK... Squeeze as much enjoyment as you can out as long as you can while trying to stay comfortable and definitely... if music is what you love then just have at 'er. It's the only thing that's really been getting me by and I'm a firm believer that creating, playing or even just listening to music has curative properties.

I've always thought about maybe getting into music therapy. Nothing fancy. Just teaching/playing music with people who could benefit from the distraction.

Keep pluggin' on.

Cheers.
