Old time question, I'm afraid - MIDI foot prints no longer in X3?

Are the foot prints for advancing the MIDI score/timeline gone, and is there some other tool that has replaced it?

I want to advance the score one note at a time as I determine my edits, and I used to use the foot prints to do that.

Anybody?  :)

Look up "Step Recording" in the Help files. They just don't have the icons anymore.

If you are talking about step recording, hold down shift and press R.

I looked into the Step Recorder, and it looks like 1/2 the answer.  The problem is that the notes already existing do not sound when the insertion point, or NOW time, advances onto them.

I wish to be able to hear the sounds of those MIDI notes as the NOW time advances based on the Foot Step being clicked to the next sound event.

Any further help from any of you?
