On Drones, Eagles and Skiers

Given that a forum member was unilaterally attacked by an unmanned plane, I felt this might be of some interest...

So the Dutch police are training eagles to take down unmanned drones:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/02/01/anti_drone_eagle_squadron/

...now the Scottish want to get in on the act:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/02/04/scottish_eagle_squadron/

Given how FOM some of these bastards are:

! :-O

...if I was an eagle, I'd be all like, "You wot mate? You want me to attack that massive flying machine with its whirling Blades of Death with my bare feet? F*** off!"

Why don't they just use drones to take down the drones? Or instigate some better legislation at least? Why do people have to drag bloody eagles in to solve problems of their own creation which have feck all to do with eagles? And what happens when the eagle does manage to take one out (or visa versa)? Hint: gravity. How is that any better, people below being showered with flying bits of drones and spattered with eagle guts?

wtf is wrong with people?! :-(

Ah...a Howitzer that fires eagles I presume?  Yeah, that works.

Well, we've got eagles around here so...  In fact, there's a bald eagles nest about four miles from here on an island halfway across the Columbia near one of the main freeways that crosses the river.  It's huge and features a male and a female (who's about 20% bigger).  I've seen them flying up and down the river a few times now - very cool!

I have eagles nearby too.  In fact, they hunt my property quite a bit.  I see them really often from the window here next to me.  It's pretty cool.
