On a sad note, I lost my brother in law (father figure) today
My brother in law, which was my father figure growing up, passed away today. He was the one taking me fishing, teaching me to repair my bicycle and my car. He passed away quietly on the coach this morning. Would have turned 60 on Christmas evening,
He will be forever missed...

Sad to hear Ken. My condolences. My mother went like that. No sickness, nothing wrong. Just went. I hope to go like that too (in another 25 years, at least).

My deepest sympathies Ken. My father (who was my best friend) passed away a year ago, and it's still not easy to come to terms with. I'll certainly include your brother in law in my prayers.

One of his favorite songs was actually a song I wrote almost 20 years ago. I have already opened the old project, to make again to his memory. Edit: I would love to go that way as well, or on stage...

Damn right, 60 is too young. If you believe Ray Kurzweil, it won't be long before 160 is too young. But when my time comes I'll just be glad if I can go quietly on the couch. As long as I don't have something inappropriate in the DVD player at the time.

I have already started with the string and piano section on that particular song. It will be part of me processing / dealing with this. I recorded it (IIRC) in 98 or 99 originally, and on a positive note it opened without any problems in Splat. I take that as a sign  All the best.

Sorry to hear about your loss! It's always tougher around this time of year. My roommate got a call this afternoon that a co-worker (early 60's as well) died in his sleep last night. 60 is just too young (and only eight years away for me)!
