On the Shores of the Dead Sea (video performance)
This is a guitar piece in classical style in 17 notes per octave using the 17 version of the phyrgian mode. In normal 12 equal tuning phyrgian mode starts on E and has no sharps or flats. embedded video, online mp3 play and download plus some details on the piece which I recorded with Sonar (of course). Its not obvious to me - is there a way to embed youtube videos here?

Hi Chris, interesting concept but with a guitar tone this ugly , sounds like that guitar needs a set up, this is for me really a struggle to listen to, sorry. Would love to hear this on a properly set up classical guitar.

Hi chris, my ears are not offended but bewildered. If you take the trouble of refretting a guitar but it sounds like a sitar in places, imho a set up would help. Not trying to belittle you or put you down. I applaud you for trying something different, honest.

I didn't take it personally - but what can I do? Its an improvisation - it is what it is and I can't change much. I do appreciate your time to listen and comment. Actually I've been looking for some of your work to return the favor. I'd like to listen to what you do! chris oh... soundclick - I'll visit. Ahh - now listening I understand your point of view - this is lovely guitar work! Jeux interdits is the current piece.

Nice, it's always great to hear something different. I love the phyrgian scale my absoloute favorite. Very Crimson in parts and I love that too. Yes the guitar is a little wonky but I can accept that it is a jam and you can always argue that is an example of "Audio Verite" and on that level I can enjoy it more.
Good dynamics, very sad in parts, keep up the good work.

Ok your a smarty pants, just listening to jeux interdits, beutiful, so how long have you been playing? and are you a pro and what I mean by pro do you make a living playing classical guitar? I am not telling you how to post but you and I are pro's even if we don't make any money from it (I don't know about you but I don't) but at your level being a bit more gental with someone who does this for the love could be benifical for all and I am saying this from experience I have been called mr sandpaper. Hi Chris, have been reading up on the theory behind microtonality via the links on your site. Interesting material especially the history of it. Saw your video of using zip-ties as temporary frets, don't know if you know this but lute players use a piece of gutstring for frets so they are moveable. Also came across a very nice video of a classical guitar with movable frets, some very nice microtonal music as well in this video : http://youtu.be/MYK_PF9WTRE This is what I meant by hearing your music on a properly set up guitar, and I would love to own that guitar to experiment with.
