“One Finger Chords”
Anyone know of a VST plug-in for “One Finger Chords”, or if there is another way to achieve this with X1 and a Edirol PCR500? I have some programming experience and was thinking of using CAL’s to achieve this, but a Plug-in would be a lot quicker. Besides my head hurts when I have to think hard! Thanks in advance.

You probably know this one,but "dropping" your "low E" string to "D" you can then do "one finger power chords",meaning instead of two fingers to do "first/5th/first octave",by lowering the E to D,now those 3 notes, are "you guessed it" 1 finger!,on the 3 lowest strings,1 fret-1finger. A good example of this is an Alice In Chains song "Them Bones",the entire "rhythm part"of this song is played using this technique. Then again, what I'm suggesting, probably has "absolutely nothing" to do with what your hoping to achieve! Bob

Thanks bobguitkillerleft (interesting name) I bet it’s cold in Adelaide today I should have stated in my original post guys that my Edirol PCR500 is a keyboard and it’s keyboard that I want to do “One Finger Chords” on. I’m primarily a guitarist, and like lots of guitarist I enjoy frigging around with key’s and have zero conscience when it comes to cheating.

I wonder if Sonar's arpeggiator would help out, maybe some of the settings will do what you are looking for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2n2ojuofrWA

Thanks, yes I'm not quite sure what medication I was on,when I came up with that name, and YES,I've tried to change it but,I've not a clue. Its sort of coldish today, but I'm a cold climate afficianado[should have been born in England],and always dread the heat of summer here. Ah Keyboards, yes I must do that much more often![but with all this computer sillines,I barely get enough time to play the guitar as much as I should!] Regards Bob

Thanks Marcus for the vid link, the appreciator awesome as it is, isn’t quite what I’m looking for. Also the VST plugs… Tonespace, midiChord, ChodSpace, Chordmem don’t fit the bill either. I’ve done some more research and can now explain what I want to achieve much better. Yamaha have what they call “single finger mode” you can play any major chord by just pressing the key in the chord area with the same name. Adding a black key on the left of this key will make it a minor chord and an extra white key on the left will make it a 7th chord. I don’t want any auto accompaniment appreciator crap I just want an easy way to play chords washes. Anymore Ideas?

Yeah that's the sort of thing Yamaha, amongst others, implemented on their "home keyboard" style of instrument back in the 80's/90's. You could do a lot worse than scanning the s/h market

Not an option for live gigging mate! I use Mobius Looper VSTi and 8.5.3 on stage and I already take to gigs Edirol PCR-500 controller. Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Beetle Bass Guitar, Yamaha DTXplorer MIDI Drum Kit Two Behringer FCB1010 Plus a PA, blah balh blah So it’s got to be a Vst solution
