One Of The Hands Down Dumbest Things I've Ever Done- According To Me
I was having a lot of trouble getting a decent stereo image in my mixes, so I think WTH?
I'm panning all my tracks, experimenting with mono/stereo tracks. I went into the panning laws preferences and tried every one of them. Went into my interface software and sure enough I had them panned and I had audio on my stereo channels.Looked at all my plugs to see if one of them had me locked in mono. Dicked around endlessly with M/S soloing each side and track. It all sounded the same.
I went online and started to search my interface to see if I had overlooked something. Lots of people have had the same problem. My interface has a very small lock button in the control software and apparently if it isn't locked you're in mono all the time. No wonder I couldn't seem to get a decent image. DUH!
I'm still trying to decide which panning law I like best.
