One VST For Two (or more) Tracks

I have two rhythm guitar tracks. I want to use a VST amp for them. How can I route both tracks to one VST amp while keeping the correct panning that I've set? It seems like if I make a new stereo bus and route both tracks there, it loses quality or the panning spectrum. It doesn't sound quite as good as when I load the VST amp for each track. In order to save CPU, I don't want to use multiple instances of the same VST that use the same settings.
Does anyone have any ideas or advice for this issue? Thanks in advance!

    It depends on the vst you're using. Amplitube can have stereo inputs with their own signal paths, separate amps, effects, outputs, etc. You could set up a buss send both guitars panned hard right and left to take advantage of the stereo path. I wouldn't go that route though. I would set up each guitar track(s) separately using their own vst(s), get my sound and freeze them to save cpu cycles.

    I've found that VST amps often lose quality by having to process two different signals. This happens when I'm using the sim on a track playback - while monitoring the input and playing along. Every Sim I've tried seems to take a beating. Processor overhead ? - I don't know but's seems consistent for me.
