Strangely they increase the price if you don't take the cheap one. That's a new marketing ploy. Who is sitting there saying 'Well now you've increased the offer, I'll now buy it'

Hey, Bakers! Where is the special reduced upgrade price for the ones who bought X3 when it was first released. We got AD only to have to turn around and pay a somewhat pricey upgrade to AD2 after only getting probably less than a year of using AD1. Come on, throw us a bone! LOL!

Steam distro doesn't get the luv either. That upgrade has been sitting at $399 for some time, not even the $299 as on the Cakewalk Store. Said it before (on the Steam forums) ... I encourage that the promotions be synced.

While I guess you would consider that "bundled stuff" these are probably some of the "highlights" of X3.... Just Addictive Drums 1 was $149...add to that the $79 for upgrade, and the fact that you get BOTH for FREE...THAT alone makes it worth the upgrade IMO... But that's just me...
