One finger chords.

Hi!

I just ordered a boxed copy of Sonar X1 producer, switching from Cubase, and I'm posting my first message on the Cacewalk forum. Here's something I've been thinking about.
I have some problems with my hands. Therefore I have difficulty playing chords. I think it would be great if controller keyboards made it possible to play one finger chords, and fingered chords, like the ones found on home keyboards. This would be a great help for me, and I imagine, quite a lot of musicians with disabilities.
What do you think?

It's probabaly more of a software feature, and audio keyboard, rather than midi keyboards. I'm sure there's some software avalible that lets you play one finger chords. There will be lots of them, but i don't know if any will be vst. I hope you find something.

Hi there,

One answer to your problem might be a Korg Nano Pad.

I looked for one finger chord VST's, utilities and plug ins for ages and almost gave up.
Then I saw the Nano Pad.
The Nano pad allows you to program up to eight notes into one of 16 pads.
So, sixteen chords available, with one finger to play up to eight notes to each chord.
It can be used as a control surface too.

You program 'scenes', which can be loaded into the Nano Controller for each song via a 'Kontrol Editor' in an additional window.
It works independently of Sonar so you set up the scene, tell Sonar it has a controller attached (Midi in-out) and it works as an input device sending midi-in.
Each scene is held on your hard drive so you can make as many as you wish. I name them the same as the song and save them in Cakewalk with my song files so I can find them easily.
Takes a while to set up but is very good once going.
I'm a poor keyboard player, but this has increased my productivity no end.

NB* Took a bit of net searching to find the right driver for my ancient Sonar 2.2!

Here's a link to Korg that might help.

Good luck and happy Christmas!

Bumping this old thread to see if anyone has any knowledge of a VST plug-in for “One Finger Chords”.

Or if there is another way to achieve this with a Edirol PCR500

Sonar Producer X2 + 8.5.3, HP pavilion dv6 3031TX Win7 home premium 64-bit,  Edirol UA-55, Edirol UA-25, Edirol PCR-500, 2 Behringer FCB1010, Rode NT1A, KRK Rokit 8 Monitors, PODxt, AKG520 Cans, too many guitars to list and a Dog "Lets complicate things a little for the sake of simplicity"
