One of My Old Bands Is Coming to Town

April 27th I think is the date. I played with this band in the mid 80's. They're playing at Ponchatoula High School of all places. I guess getting gigs is tough for everybody  I'll probably drop in to hassle them cuz every band should have a heckler! Somebody has to holler "FREE BIRD!".

When I was in charge we played free bird for sound check as a big band. The stage and sound crew would crack up and the sponsors would turn their heads like puppy dogs.  ahhhhhh...those was the days

My favorite heckle when going to see old band mates play is to walk in mid set and sit in back and wait til a song ends, then yell "Hey, play something the bass player knows".

In one concert I went to ... someone yelled out "rock'n'roll" and when the band was done playing the piece, they stopped and the angry looking man with the Beethoven face said ... please take that man out of this theater, or we are done here tonite. Security took him out! And we got almost 2 more hours! They had already played for over an hour!

And they thanked the audience, for the care, and appreciation. 2 encores!

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

So he was the Axl Rose of the classical scene?

I could not fathom being that humorless.

CSB time...

On tour with just about the meanest, hardest punk band Canuckerland has to offer some clowno in the crowd (of some dirthole backwoods bar) yelled "PLAY SOME SKYNARD!".

I jokingly launched into the intro riff to Sweet Home Alabama.

Yup... I almost died from the glares of my fellow band members... and likely would have from their boots and fists if I did not stop playing it as promptly as I did.

The crowd got a chuckle though.

I avoid pretentious concerts.  I'm there to enjoy myself, not be part of some "movement."
