One of a Kind- second song

Hi all-

Here's another song I've been working on. It's my second post here. I had it up for a very brief time a little bit ago, but some major things needed to be changed so this is the second try of the second try.

In my first post, i said i typically play folk/bluegrass, but this is a little different. Kind of.

Again, I'm looking for general feedback on the mix. Thanks for giving a listen.

Well, I don't know what to say. It's so simple and raw that I think I like it!! Actually it sounds like a good mix to me. I am not a good mixmaster but it sounds good to me. If I remember the first one this is better but I'm not sure if I remember. Where am I? Anyway, good job.

hey thanks for the prompt replies.

thanks! my setup is pretty minimal, and i don't have alot of bells and whistles. just a change jar and some rubber bands. but even if i did, not sure how i would feel about using them. we'll have to see as i continue on with this experience/experiment. i also just record in a small room that doubles as a study and cat pantry. which leads me to...

yes, i hear ya. the room is pretty small, with some hardwood floors (which figure prominently in that little bridge...that's pine a bangin'). i'll fool around some with getting a rug or some blankets on the walls to lessen the bounce back.

thank you. i liked the contrast there, based on the syllables. the rest of the metaphor...we'll see how that works. cheers!

I really enjoyed the raw feel of this tune. Great job on the lyrics and structure of this piece. I loved the mix, I think it would loose some of its charm if you were to take the ambience of the room away. The acoustic had a clean and full sound. All in all a great performance and song. KUDOS!

Great tune! It's sparse, but has that appeal like we're just all sitting jamming, which is good. As far as structure, you could easily extend the chorus another line or two.

Reminded me of Arlo Guthrie's music. Good story telling lyrics!

I would agree with Warren - love this tune - simple - but I probably won't be able to get it out of my head now.

Thanks again, mate. I tried to run with the metaphor in lyrics and see how far i could push it without going over the edge. I stick pretty much with acoustic stuff and shoot for simplicity.

Thanks for another listen and for the comment...and i promise you, there will be banjo soon enough. my jammin' buddy has been doing some home makeover stuff and has been indisposed for a little bit, but those projects are nearing completion.

wow, that's good company...although i must admit i haven't listened to too much arlo. woody on the the other hand...
    Thanks

Thanks for listening to this as well. as noted above, i shoot for simplicity (although that's an easy out, too, for not having alot of resources or mad skills, unlike many of the talented people who post great stuff here). oh, and sorry for the "earworm" :)

    Fun campfire/drinking tune.

    Look forward to the banjo.

some drinking was involved during production...which is not always a good thing. thankfully nothing was on fire.

    thanks for the comment.
