Oooh... Scary... Just bought SPlat.......
All new to me... Command Center and all that. Is it all nice and easy to use? Should I just go ahead and "Install All?" Okay... Let's go for that and see what happens............

Hi. I have not had any problems with "install all". I know others have been having issues, with installations not completing. Best of luck.

Thanks Still downloading... At least my internets is faster than when I last downloaded X2 I'm assuming, as ever, that I can leave X2 installed, and even still use that if I want to. I fancy making sure I can see all my old VST's and what have you in SPlat before switching over permanently...

Did you know that you can place your CCC download folder, where you want it? I have all my downloads on a separate HD (external)?Best of luck.

Interesting... I have no idea where those files went... I've still got 50gb left on my system SSD so I think I might be okay... SPlat is installed... I'm running a test project now. I was able to search out my original X2 saved plug-in menu layouts, and I'm checking that all my X2 synth and effect plugs load okay. So far so good. And my X2 prefs were spotted by SPlat, so I used those settings to run it.

haha! I'm sure I will John, I'm sure I will... Up to now SPlat is just like my old friend, Mr X2, which is nice. The little enhancements, like how effects are shown in the console effects bin for instance, are nice. So much more to explore...

Sonar 2015 is basically X2 only with loads of stuff made better, and loads of new stuff. I've said this already in a couple of other threads, but what's really going to blow you away is the way it gets seriously better every month. The membership updates are not trivial, and whacking great big new features have not, so far, been a rarity. And bug fixing and incremental enhancement goes on all the time. It's extremely impressive.

I guess my main problem with Sonar is I can't really justify having the flagship product for what I do... But I wanted to stay as much up to date as possible, and I knew it was only a matter of time before I pressed the button. I don't think I'd have been that happy using "Artist," even though it is probably adequate for my needs right now. I've yet to download and install things like Melodyne and AD2. I may use them... I may not.

Bristol_Jonesey Best of luck Andy!
Thank you Mr Jones I've just had a weird one actually:- My current test project has three VSTi instances. The first two VSTi are being driven by the step sequencer. The third VSTi has no MIDI yet. When I selected the third VSTi MIDI track, while the project was playing, it started to play notes that were on one of the other step sequencer parts. Had me stumped for a bit. and I went to Prefs and unchecked "Always Echo Current MIDI Track," which stopped the problem, but now I'd have to manually select the echo input button. So I checked the "Always Echo Current MIDI Track" option again and now there are no notes being played in the third VSTi. I'm obviously missing something here... Didn't have this in X2, so something must have been "enhanced" and I can't see what... Onwards and upwards

A suggestion on the location of the download paths in Command Center Settings. If you downloaded everything to the default location on the C: prior to knowing that you could specify a different drive for the download folder, I would suggest that you copy the original folder and all of the downloaded files to wherever you want to instead have it go, and than alter the settings in Command Center to point to the new location. The reason is that, to the best of my awareness, Command Center relies on seeing that it already has the download installer files, or it can go through the download process again, unnecessarily. Please, anyone, provide correcting info on the above if I got it wrong. Bob Bone

Done that Bob, thanks So I've freed up six gigs on my system drive. Had three crashes this morning, trying to change parameters in a VSTi while the project was playing.

Crashes could be down to the VST's Ken... I can't replicate it... It's kind of random. And it's a hang, so the problem reporter doesn't pop up.

I would try to eliminate the culprit, by bypassing all the effects (E), and turning them on one by one until you get any issue (like before). Try removing that plugin, save, and re open project. Does it play nicely, or is it the same? Best of luck.

Hi Ken, It's not effects. It's my VSTi's, and it has only happened when I've been tweaking stuff inside the VSTi properties window. The effects appear to be working okay at the moment... cheers andy

I do not know what types of VSTi you are using, but I would then try to solo and tweak every VSTi, to find out which one is causing the most problems. Then check if there is something anyone else experiences. It could be that someone else has the answer, if it is down to a specific synth. Hope I am not just leading you astray. Best of luck.

Okay, I now have the following in my current SPlat test project:- Absynth 5 Novation Bass Station Chromaphone Dim Pro Battery 3 BFDEco Drumaxx Session Drummer SI Drum Kit FabFilter One FabFilter Twin Hive Lounge Lizard EP3 Korg M1 Korg MonoPoly Korg MS-20 Podolski Korg Polysix Rapture (not pro) sfz SI Bass Guitar SI Electric Piano SI String Selection String Studio VS-2 Strum GS-2 TruePianos (Cakewalk) Ultra Analog VA-2 Korg Wavestation Z3TA+ 2 Zebralette So that's thirty VSTi all playing a little ditty, with percussion duties shared across the various drum synths. There are also 31 instances of Pro-Q 2, one Pro-L, one Breverb 2 and one Timeless 2. All appears to be playing okay, with nothing frozen, and the CPU meter hovering at around 60~70% No automation used yet...
