Opening Producer Files in Studio

Hello Forums,

I've been creating music in Producer edition of X1. However, I find that I didn't need a lot of the Producer's bells and whistles and have instead bought Studio. Would I still be able to open up Producer files in Studio?

Thanks!
C.

Yes, they should open fine. However, if you used any Producer-exclusive features (like the Pro Channel), those won't be available any longer so your mixes may sound different.

If you have any tracks that you even touched the Pro Channel with you will probably find that Studio is going to make a 'guess' at the settings and may leave some unexpected EQ settings.  Check the EQ after bringing a project down from Producer to Studio.  The same 'guess' seems to happen the other way (where you have EQ on a track) as well.  At least that's what I've seen going from Essential to Producer and back.

Actually, the code that does this is pretty trick, but it may not match your expectations.
