Orchestral - Carmageddon (REWORKED W NEW SOUNDS)
http://tinyurl.com/3v2vj9s This piece is named after the "non-event" of the year in Southern California. Hopefully, this piece will live up to expectations! Thanks for the minute of your time, J Here's the link to the updated version: http://tinyurl.com/3oocxm6

That was interesting..and short. :) I guess I missed the non-event so I probably miss the significance of this... But it's well done, as always. :)

I thought it was well put together, although I'm not a fan of the harsh minor stuff (just not my style). I thought the other stuff was very nice.

i too have no idea whar carmageddon is, but this music is excellent! very cinematic, kinda 60s horror film, love the slightly dissonant twist at times, makes it much more modern and creepy...really superbly done!

Enjoyed it overall. I'd suggest reworking it a bit. It sounds too midi/ block chords on the keyboard rather than an orchestrated composition. More dynamics would help it out too.

Agree with most of the other comments: I like it for the most part but some of the power/minor stuff has that 'giveaway' sound of synths versus a real orchestra -- but maybe that was the effect you were going for.

The "MIDI-ness" is the byproduct of the single-velocity GPO sounds that I used in Sibelius to compose this. I've done a better mockup (though defintely not perfect) using LA Scoring Strings and Symphobia for the strings, Cinebrass for the brass (sounds great, but it has its limitations) and good 'ol GPO for woodwinds and percussion. Here's the new version: http://tinyurl.com/3oocxm6 If nothing else, it's a good example of the difference between GPO and the better libraries on the same material. J

It was too short. I did like it. It reminded me of dark Looney Tunes. I think "EVERY" musician should listen to Looney Tunes as it is some of the best music out there.
