Original instrumental - Carry On

Hello everyone, it's me again, back with an all clean guitar instrumental for you.

https://soundcloud.com/fendicator/carry-on

Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I wanna make sure I got a decent mix before I put the video together for it.
You all had great advice for me last time, so I figured I would ask for more :).

Update: 1/23/2017, video done https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tQyonEc-VA .

Nice one! The mix is fairly good, guitars are well played. Everything sounds nice and tight. The only thing missing is a memorable melody played over the top of it all.

Yes, it's a brilliant backing track, but it sounds incomplete.

After putting in some work today on the track to make it feel more complete, I added an extra guitar part to go more along with the rhythm, 2 guitars 75% L and R. I added nothing to the very end of it.

However, now I feel it may be to busy? I am wondering if I should ditch the lead all together? Except at the very end I like that part. The subtle sadness to it sound good to me. I could be wrong though.

I just listened to the second version...  I kinda like the lead in there, though level-wise it doesn't necessarily come across that way because the clean L/R guitars are hotter.  I wonder what it would sound like with a synth lead trading with guitar...    But overall I do like the feel of the tune!

Thanks everyone for the advice and ideas thus far. I went ahead a made the video for it. Just another play-thru video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tQyonEc-VA

stevec, A synth probably would be cool but all I have to work with is a guitar, bass and ezdrummer. My retail job limits me to what I can and can not buy lol. Took me a few years of saving up and clever spending to get what I have now lol.

You sound a very talented guitarist I do wonder if you need the drums as they sound a little staid and lifeless to my furry ears.  Enjoyed the guitar though thanks for sharing.

Hey Wookiee, I realized after you said something about the drums I had forgot to turn breverb on for them after I had multitracked them out of ezdrummer. I am glad you said something. Also thanks to everyone so far for the comments and suggestions. It has been very helpful and much appreciated.

Lovely sound Jeremy. You play very well, clean and precise picking. It does seem to need a more interesting melody than the fast triads in the second section. Really like that descending first section though. Things got interesting around the 1:38 mark, you could develop that a little more I think.
