Orion - The Movie!
Through the Solar System into deep Space to the Nebula of Orion. What a trip that would be! This piece moves from New Age to orchestral Film Score (in my dreams! ). http://youtu.be/8F7NLPTXIEU Best Regards Malcolm

An epic orchestral piece! Very nicely done. I love the melody. The video is ok, but there is not much you can do unless you create your own 3D images.

Hi Malcolm, this is excellent on all levels, composition, orchestration and arrangement. This is a very enjoyable piece to listen to and to me it absolutely conveys space exploration, well done. Greetings, Rik

You know, everything needs context. I think without video I couldn't have related but those pics, along with the music, blew me away. Perfect pairing, Malcolmb. You shouild send it to the Discovery channel, or the Star Trek folks. Nice stuff.

Vicente - Sincere thanks - You are so right about the video. Such basic video software that I have really doesn't lend itself to this sort of thing. But it was free so perhaps I shouldn't complain! Rik - Sincere thanks. This is really the first time that I have attempted this level of orchestration - drove me mad! Evadianepug - Sincere thanks and you are so right. I knew what I had in mind as I wrote the piece but without the video it didn't make any sense. Now if I could only get the Enterprise to make a guest appearance ....! Hi Radio - so pleased you like this piece. A bit of an odd pairing of New Age and Film Score but it works for me! Best Regards Malcolm

I listened without watching and still got the feel of space exploration, so I guess you nailed that. Sounds like you put a lot of work into it. Well done.

Paulo - Sincere thanks - the piece was a bit of a different direction from my usual light jazz / Celtic music. Sometimes it clears the cobwebs trying something new. Although I don't think Holst need worry too much! Best Regards Malcolm

Very nice, Malcolm! For a moment there, I thought I could hear the sounds of the whales from the Star Trek movie.

Shawn - Very many thanks. Scottytunes - So pleased you like it. I know the film you mean and always like the scene in the bus when the Ghetto Blaster was dealt with! As for the whales, it certainly is a wonderful sound - and it will of course be your namesake that ensures we will always be able to enjoy it! Thank you! Best Regards Malcolm

Commented on "the Youtube", but I'll say it again here... And we have CONTACT! Nice one, Malcomb. Very much captures the theme, even when the "spacey" tones move to orchestra. Well done. Clearing Cobwebs is always a good idea. :D

Mark - Sincere thanks and totally agree - "the music is where it's at"! I suppose the video was really just a means of trying to explain what was in my mind when I wrote the piece (assuming any thoughts were there at all!). Clearly Spielberg does not need to worry about me as a competitor! Best Regards Malcolm
