Osprey snap shot

A bird watcher that was there when we arrived said the Osprey had just eaten a large fish, so we assume that's why it wasn't in a rush to fly away.

Man! That is a fantastic shot Mike!

I believe more color control in Sonar could be a good thing for some.

    Thanks Spacey,

It was a good day to drive down to the coast.

We also stopped to see a Bald Eagle whose nest we know of. We got to see an air show when it flew away for a moment and came back to it's roost with a fresh duck.

The interesting part was that as soon as it returned a juvenile bald eagle flew out of the pine forest behind us and started begging it's parent for a piece of duck.

They both took off and gave us a close up acrobatics show as the juvenile pestered the adult for a snack.

It was one of those moments that you choose to enjoy rather than try to photograph.

I kinda wish I had a sound recorder with me because they were both squawking at each other with vigor.

     :-)

    best regards,
    mike

i watched an osprey hunt and catch this weekend, while kayaking on Little Dell Reservoir near salt lake city.

amazing birds, it's really fun to watch them up close.

here's our put in, you can see what the surrounding area is like..
the osprey was in the area to the left of the earthen dam...

Wow, one of the best animal pictures I think I've ever seen!  GJ Mike!

Near one of the highway interchanges up here the Ospreys have built this flippin' humongous nest on top of a really tall street light.  It's cool to watch them watching us drive by.

Heh, just did a quick google search and here's the exact nest a few years ago (it's much bigger now).

    And another shot...

Killer picture mike- if I could take a photo like that I'd be a proud man...

Reminds me of the Eagle from the Muse video Knights of Cydonia.
