Ouch!

Well ... the picture says it all. That's his feathers stuck to the glass.

Here he is taking a rest after the impact on top of a chain link kennel panel. It's only a couple feet away.

I get that now and again here. I try to rush outside and get the bird before "cat the terrible" does. The birds are usually stunned and will sit on your finger for a minute or two before coming to their senses and realizing where they are.... then they freak out and fly off. I imagine hitting the window, getting knocked silly, then coming to on a human finger is a little muce but I enjoy it.

Most survive, a few seem to break their neck though.... we have a lot of glass... and a lot of birds.

    Nice pictures there!!

    Windex! :)

We had a foot of snow yesterday. It's kind of hard to explain, but our living room has 4 glass doors so you can see the back yard. Birds have been crashing in to the doors for two days now. I think it's because of the snow. It must be reflecting in the doors and they see it and think they can keep going.

Last week, I look outside and there's a bird hanging from it's beak from one of the feeders. He was trying to get a seed that was stuck and jammed his beak in too far and got it stuck. Took me forever, but I finally got him out with a 10" Phillips Screwdriver. I could see how he was stuck from the other side of the feeder, so I stuck the screwdriver in and had to push down on his beak to free him.

Ya know ... he never even thanked me! He just flew off.

He's lucky I found him in the first place. The only reason I did was my wife had just got home from work and told me to go outside and see if I could get a picture of the sky. This is what I got ....

I didn't touch it up, the sky was all purple and orange like that.
