Out of memory error

Out of memory error

I get an out of memory error when I do a "clean audio folder" the program runs for 5-10 minutes, then returns the message below. I had this same problem with Sonar 6 and now in X1. Could I just have too many audio files in my audio data folder? - about 20 gigs in 11,000 files.

    You may want to consider using the "Per Project Audio Folder" option.

    As for the 20G in 11K files, my guess would be that, yes, it could be the cause of the problem.

    that's not a windows limit, but it could be a sonar limit? (only the bakers would know)- how does it work if you run the "clean audio folder" without a project loaded?

    I would call tech support, or submit a trouble ticket. If it's like an indexing range problem then the bakers need to know about.

    Consider starting to use per project audio folders, it just makes more sense to me. But then, that's just me.

    Is there ever a reason not to use per-project audio folders?
