Output is "Silent"

Hopefully someone can help me with my problem! I'll be honest, I'm not experienced with this program (or any other producing software) at all, but I would like to learn! I purchased the Sonar X1 Producer Edition not too long ago, but there's one small problem. Every time I try to make sound or play audio, I won't be able to hear anything like the sound is turned off. But it's on... So I checked my ouputs and I have the RealTek or whatever output that came with my computer(Windows 7). Cakewalk said it was a silent ouput and I'm not sure why. So is there any way to fix this or maybe get a new sound card for an ouput? If you can help me out, thanks a lot!!

Check that you master buss is routed to the Realtek (check the output). All your tracks should then be routed to the master buss (using the track outputs).

If you're completely new work through some of the tutorials in the manual. They are designed to get you started.

Check your drivers. Go to Options/Audio. Under the General tab, your Playback and Record should match your hardware. Under the Drivers tab, your input and output should also match your hardware. You may have to go control panel and set the playback to match you output. You may need to run the Wave Profiler under the General tab
