I hadn't heard this one, but you're right. It's better to have a PMA. It's not always easy... The mix sounds great. The BGV sound a little "homogeneous" I'd like to hear them with a bit more of a natural sound.

Nice one Frank, Sounds pretty good to me and some nice textures going on in this song. There is also someone else we owe everything to, but then I believe you already know that. You are blessed and this song shows that part of you. Very nicely done, nice arrangement, instrumentation and a great mix. Peace and Blessings, John

Good ears Robby... Thank you... the Background Vocals we're way over-processed, and the mix was basically a mess... I re-mixed this morning with fresh ears, and I think it sounds much better... please let me know... as for the "PMA", please read my response to John theguitarplayer's feedback... theguitarplayer Nice one Frank, Sounds pretty good to me and some nice textures going on in this song. Thanks for listening John, and thanks for the great feedback... I'm totally hip to what you're saying... I wrote this song about 35 years ago while studying psychology in college, I had just read a book about "psycho-cybernetics" and came up with the idea for this lame a$$ song... I was young & dumb, very liberal and self-absorbed... me-oh-my how I've have changed... I'm still dumb though... I think I may change the title of this song to "Cool Fool"

Frank, Interesting that you took some phycho in college, that was my minor, specialty area in deviant behavior. Oh, how we do change over the years. I'm still dumb too, but then, I'll get over it one of these days. "Cool Fool" seems a bit harsh, but, how about "Man In The Mirror"? We do get to be a little prideful of our accomplishments, just not overly prideful, and always thankful to Him. Just a thought! Great song!! Peace and Blessings, John

Wow! REALLY like this! Love the stops in the drum machine and all the layers of instruments! Superb arrangements of instruments. I am betting that guitar in there is that hollow body in your picture? What kind of guitar is that? I have wanted a hollow body for about 40 years now.... and I just keep procrastinating ...and the prices just keep going up! Good job on this track by the way.

As I've said before about this tune.... it should have been the theme song for a TV sitcom of the same name in the 70s, it just has that sound! But honestly Fank, I liked the original far better than this remake. It was so perfect before, it now sounds too busy for my old ears. It doesn't have the snap of the early version. There are some cool things there but I don't think it translates as well... but then I was a HUGE fan of the earlier version. Daryl

I'm impressed that you have the music end of this song so happening and grooving ... Top Form , Top Gear ...WOW, the musical end of things here on this song sounds Great Kenny

Thanks for your honest feedback... I never was satisfied with this tune from the first album, so I decided to tweak it a bit... add some harmony, and a few licks here & there... I may have gone a little overboard... I'm still not through with it... Thanks again for your thoughts Daryl... your opinion means a lot to me...

It is always interesting to read the comments about older versions while listening to the latest. It sounds great. Whatever the background vocals sounded like before, they work now. In fact, I wanted a bit more. And it does put a smile on the face. The sax reminds me of the old Saturday Night Live, when it was funny. @

"The sax reminds me of the old Saturday Night Live, when it was funny." or the Edgar Winter Group? This song just gets better and better. I think the vocal sounds really good... but if I step back way far and think about it... I think the song could go to another level if it had just the right voice "cast" for the part, if you will. I can't put my finger on it yet... but I would keep an ear out for a vocalist that some how has the magical ability to convey the deep message that the song presents with their innate vocal style. I can't figure out what to suggest for but I know that the song is super and when you find just the right vocalist that the song will be transcended to a higher level. I hope I didn't come off as an a hole for sharing that opinion. I can think of many friends who should sing this song to them selves every morning. It's a great song and a great song idea and the mix is simply fantastic. Thanks for sharing. all the best, mike

not at all... I appreciate the honest feedback... I agree, this song would benefit greatly from another vocalist's treatment... I've never been happy with mine... years ago, I did a bluesy-country version of this, and pitched it to Hank Williams Jr... but I never heard back from him... Thanks again Mike

Great job Frank. Maybe it's my ears today but even though it's a solid mix it seems just tad crowded (keys and guitars seems to be overlapping?)
