Ozone not showing up in my list of vst's
Hello All, I purchased Ozone and installed it onto my Win7 X2 environment. I chose all of the default settings during the installation process yet when I scan for new VST's or try to pick it from my list of availables, it is not there. Any quick ideas as to what I am doing wrong or where I can head to try something different? Thanks all! TtheB

It should actually show up as both a DX and VST effect. Could be an Ozone installation issue.

Find the path that Ozone installed the VST to and add that to your scan folders in the Plugins Manager... then re-scan. It probably installed the VST into a folder other then C:\Programs Files\Cakewalk\VSTPlugins Probably C:\Program Files\IZotope\Ozone or some such folder, some even default to C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTplugins Find and add...or re-install and put the VST in the Cakewalk VSTPlugins folder... Cheers!

Could be an authorization issue. Check to make sure you followed the process. From the Izotope site: AUTHORIZATION iZotope products support three methods of authorization. The method that will be best for you is based on the machine(s) on which you want to install your iZotope products. If your computer is connected to the internet: The most commonly-used authorization method is Online Authorization, where you can use your serial number to directly authorize a product, after product installation on your machine. Many plugins default to \program files\steinberg\vstplugins. If you don't catch that during the installation, the plugin will be copied there instead of \program files\cakewalk\vstplugins. See if such a path exists. If it does, just add it to the list of locations in the plugin manager and rescan. Then any future installations that accidentally drop in there will be covered, too.

My Ozone 5 is in Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins. That was the default location that Ozone installed.
There are two files there. Izotope Ozone 5.dll and IZone5.dll
Did you rescan VST's after it was installed? If not Sonar will not pick it up.

Even if you don't see Ozone as a VST Plugin it should still be listed as a Direct X plug in. of course the first thing to do is to check the install path of the plug in. If you don't see the direct X version there something else may be wrong with the initial install.
When I installed X2 back when it was released I could not get the Vintage Channel VC64 to show up in the listed plugins. I checked the path and it was where it needed to be. I hit the Reset All VST plug-ins button under preferences/VST settings then I hit the Scan VST folders button.
The plug-in showed up after that. Not sure why I had to reset all the VST plug-ins before I did a scan but it seemed to fix the problem. If the install path seems correct then Reset the VST plug-ins then Rescan the folders.
Something does not seem right. You should see Ozone listed towards the top of the plug-in list. That would be the direct X version. If not then something might have gone wrong with the install. Did you do the default install?
As bit said some plugins default to \program files\steinberg\vstplugins. If this is the case there are two solutions. First add the steinburg folder to the vst Scan folders list or copy and paste the Ozone plug-in from that folder to the default cakewalk folder and rescan.
