PARKOUR - STILL IN THE GAME !!!!!
Hi everyone , who has watched PARKOUR on youtube ? If you have you will soon understand how well my new instrumental fits in with what they do , I plan on contacting a few who have posted their videos to see if they might use this new electronic music I created for their sport . Enjoy ! http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11638294&q=hi&newref=1 At the 2:40 section in my music I added in these LOG DRUM'S that sounds really cool , I did all that myself and some other things too in some of the other sections . This is PARKOUR , I tested my music with their video and its really works great with what their doing in this video they made . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKnd573Ogbk&feature=related You can cut off their music and replace it with my music , thats what I did when I tested it . The way to do it is to start my soundclick music file first and then click on the youtube video link . When their video pops up shut off their music by mutting it , you have to start my music first then click on their video . I'm doing it right now so I do know this works , very cool watching them do that stuff with the right type of music . Enjoy ! Radio

That's nice James. I really liked the change up at around 1:30 and 3:20, with the 'celestial' synth sound. As always, the soundscape is perfectly suited to visuals, as you haven't really got a lead melody as such to distract.

Thanks James for the listen & comments , I started out thinking I would add some type of lead melody but the more I looked at the Parkour video along with listening to my music I thought hell its works just the way it is for this type of visuals such as PARKOUR so I decided to leave it as is . A guitar lead melody would sound great in it but I don't play guitar so I'm sort out of luck in that area . Thanks again for the comments on this tune ! Radio

Radio, this is one of the best examples of this genre I've heard in a while. Very nice sound textures that build up throughout the song. I'll watch the youtube video later to catch up with PARKOUR. Bravo to you!

I'll watch the youtube video later to catch up with PARKOUR. Bravo to you! Thanks Lynn , a month ago I ran across PARKOUR on youtube searching for something else and I was blown away by what some of these young teens were doing as a sport or whatever you might call it . Anyway most of the music added to their videos really didn't seem to work that will so I decided to take aim at it and created this music . I might get in touch with a few of them and see if they might be interested in using what I created for one of their videos . I'm way too old to run around jumping from one building to another but hey maybe my music might just help give their video an extra boost ! LOL Thanks for the comment , hope you enjoy watching them do that Parkour stuff its pretty cool to watch ! Radio

Good stuff James! The layering of sounds and the textures that you build certainly keep ones interest but would not distract from any visual that it would be coupled with. I am sure that the electronica master (Blipp) will appreciate this number. Nice one. Freddy J

When bad weather hits it hits hard ! First my sore elbow that is still as sore as it was three months ago when I saw the doctor about it and then almost three weeks ago my right hand thumb started acting up on me . My right thumb was so stiff and it was popping on me when I tried to bend it , I had a hard time trying to work with my keyboard . Yesterday I saw my doctor and had my right hand and thumb xrayed , nothing broken or adnormal with the bone but the tendons in my hand is so bad they said I will have to wear a brace for almost two months and if that doesn't make it heal then shots might help they said . There goes my keyboard playing and that sucks ! Maybe I can figure out another way of creating my music but reality is if I want to clear this up with my thumb locking up on me it looks like I might not be doing much of anything on my keyboard . I'll still be around to comment on some of your music , for the most part looks like I will have to start taking care of these major issues with my hand and my arm by wearing that brace . I have another doctor I'm seeing in a week someone that deals with these types of hand issues . Lets face it when you can't move all your fingers freely its really doesn't matter what instrument you play these types of injuries can keep you from playing correctly or playing period . Anyway good or bad I'll still be hanging out with a comment or two , thanks for those friends who took the time to comment on my music I created here . Alot of that PARKOUR stuff goes on where Blipps lives and thats why I said this one is for Blipp . Radio

Hi James - so very sorry to hear about the hand problem. It must be really frustrating for you. My problem with hand pain is not the same as yours (arthritis arising from guitar playing in my youth (a very long time ago!)) but I do get a lot of relief and hand use from Glucosamine Gel which I rub in every morning - that might not work for you with tendon damage but I am sure there are lots of equivalent creams / gels which would help a lot (cortisone cream and perhaps an anti-inflammatory?). Hope the Doctor sorts it out for you quickly.

Radio - that totally sucks. Has the Doctor put a name to what you have? Is it Tendonitis? My sister is a Nutritionalist and owns several health shops. If you'd be willing to try supplements, I could ask her what you should take.

I guess I will find out more when I see he or her , they are suppose to call me today to set up another appointment . Right now the bone in my thumb finger feels like its popping in the joint area and is very painful near the bottom area of the thumb . I was doing fine when I created my last song called FIREFLY and then shortly after that is when I woke up with this stuff going on in my thumb . The doctor called me up later yesterday and told me the xrays showed nothing wrong with the bone itself but the tendon and cartliage is what is causing this to happen and then told me I would have to wear a hand brace to keep the thumb straight for four to six weeks maybe longer . She said if that doesn't help then you might need some shots , at my age now it seems like suddenly all this stuff is happening to me . I spend almost seven years to get where I am now and this stuff starts happening , it really sucks ! I was thinking my computer mouse is what is causing all this to happen in this area of my hand , I think I need to buy another type of pad to rest my wrist on when I use my mouse maybe that will help ease this pain in my hand too . Thanks for the suggestion with the gel , hopefully I will get over this in the next month or so . Radio

Watching that video made my hair stand on end - reminds me of what I used to do in my teens - and I have the broken bones to prove it! Hi again Malcolmb , yea that stuff seems pretty addicting to those who do it . Last night I found this new Parkour video with three guys who were really pros at doing that stuff . I could not believe what this one guy did , he jumped off a 80 ft building roof top onto the ground with no net nothing . Somehow he managed to land and roll to break that fall , I have never seen anyone leap that high off a building without killing themselfs or ending up with broken bones . I'll have to post that video for you , it took my breath away watching him leap off that building like that . Sounds like you were doing that stuff , I don't know how long that stuff has been going on but it seems like more and more kids today are addictive to it and some end up in the hospital . The kids who are pros are well trained and they know how to do that stuff without hurting themselfs but still theres always the risk of missing the mark when leaping off a building top , you could end up dead doing that stuff . Its fun to watch them do it but not for me , I remember as a teen I jumped off a 90 ft bridge into the water . Today thinking about that day I'm saying to myself now that was dumb I could had killed myself but lucky enough I didn't . Radio

cool production... sorry for your misfortune... I also have finger joint problems, mostly from old football injuries, and a couple of bar fights... I've always had to do a lot of knuckle- cracking in the studio, and on stage... Good luck with your recovery...

Hi James - Great second video and I love the music (but yours is better!). Back in my teens / early twenties I did a lot of Circuit Training - I used to play Rugby at a reasonable level - and a lot of those exercises were standard then. I also used to run Assault Courses (not voluntarily!) and it involved many of the moves in the first video (you either learnt how or ended up neck deep in the mud!). Mind you, I never jumped off an 80 foot building but I could fly - it was just the landing I had a problem with! Good luck next week with the new Doctor.
