PC Builders - Sandy Bridge thoughts?

So, anyone have any thoughts on Intel's soon to be release chip, Sandy Bridge?  I'm thinking of completely new system base on either a I5 or I7 processor but would be willing to wait a bit longer if it's worth it.
Cheers,

I was all set to pull the trigger on a Lynnfield build with a I7-870 but after I saw the SB prices and that the Lynnfield chips weren't really going down in price I decided to wait and build a SB box.

Wait a couple of months for the bugs to get worked out.  Motherboard prices might drop a little in that time, too.

RAM is so cheap I can't help but go 8GB and 64bit Win7 - goodbye XP!

I just completed a build with an i5 chip. It's very fast. 4gb memory and handles everything I throw at it.

i have several sandy bridge processors and boards so far pretty sad.

the 2300 is a 2.8GHz and it does not even beat the 2.8GHz 760. in fact is about on par with the 750. or the AMD 1090T.

the improvements are more seen in Turbo boost and unfortunately sandy bridge turbo is worse for audio than previous.
turbo was highly suggested to be off previously now its a must.

so so far they suck... we have had maybe 6-8 hours in front of a sandy bridge with communication between several board manufactures and Intel as well trying to resolve the turbo thing..
this is the first time in a good while i have been disapointed in an Intel release.

on a better note the memory bandwidth is about 10% better but still far behind that of an X58 platform.

As people become more familiar with your computer components through upgrades, repairs and other channels, they begin to venture in to custom pc world. Users computers are becoming more popular as part of the manufacturer's products new and improved features are often not found in complete systems.
