PC key stopped working

PC key stopped working

Hi-

One of my PC keyboard keys has stopped working (the one to the left of "w", to be precise).

I've rebooted, removed the cap and cleaned it out, along with some keys around it. While the cap was off I tried engaging it with a pen tip, but that didn't work either.

Is there anything else I can try at this point, or is it hopeless? The rest of the keys all work normally.

    Might be time to spend ten bucks on another keyboard.

    Surely you must have some friends with PCs?  Just borrow a KB, plug it in and see what happens.
     
    That said, if all your keys are working but one, it's almost certainly due to a defective KB.  Buy one ... but make sure the store has a decent return policy just in case it turns out it really is some kind of exotic problem.

    Hi dmbaer-

    It was definitely the keyboard. I have another older one plugged in now and it's working fine. It's just that I like the one I was using better and thought I'd ask if there was anything else I could try before I threw it out.
