PC to Laptop connection (for analyzing)

hey guys,

I want to use my laptop to analyze (with Pinguin Audio Meter, Analyzer) the signals/sound in my pc.

In short:
PC (Sound) --> Laptop (Analyzing)

does anyone know how to make it?

    Can you expand on that question? Do you want to analyze stuff you've already recorded, or analyze a room or a sound system?

    All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    To check the room you will need a calibrated microphone made for that job or a nice flat one at least. The cheapest you can get is the Behringer ECM8000. You also should have a decent preamp and sound card or the singal will be so bent before it hits the software the readings will not be of much use.

    If you want to check a signal line direct you still need a good sound card with a real line in (not a mic input). At the very least a Echo Indigo I/O

    if you mean like a frequency analyzer, why not get a free plugin?

    if that's not possible, then all you need is a cable connecting the output of the soundcard on the workstation to the input of the soundcard on the laptop. you might run into problems with going from 1/4" balanced to RCA unbalanced, in which case i would suggest a mixer or a firewire soundcard for your laptop. you could also get some adapters from radio shack for that purpose but not being a sound engineer i can't tell you if that's a bad idea or merely a sketchy one...
