PC4K Compressor Vs. Gate

So I've got this voucher, and right now the PC4K compressor and gate are both in the right range.  I own the FabFilter Pro-C and Pro-G - love the sound of both, but to my ears the Pro-G (gate) is either a little clumsy on attacks or introduces a little unwanted latency.  Any thoughts from those of you who use the PC4K stuff? (a search through the forums showed a lot of positive buzz around the compressor, just wondering what you would buy: best value for the $)

Seems like you don't NEED either of them. You've already got one of the best compressors and the best gate around. Is there something else you can apply the coupon to?

Anything on the CW store under $50, open to suggestions.  I take it that's not a strong vote for the channel strip stuff...

I think the pro-channel stuff is good, I dont have the Fab Filter stuff so I can compare. I think all that Bit is saying is those two modules will not add much over what you have already.

As for a suggestion, the Overloud VKFX - Suite & ProChannel Bundle is now showing as 29.99 pounds in the UK store, which is pretty close to $50.

I have the original standalone version and its a permanent fixture on any Electric Piano track. Of course it can be used on anything and work well on guitars.

I use the PC4K compressor all the time and it is great for problem solving compression but it does not have a limiting feature. If you wish to use a comp for limiting, this is not the one. Otherwise, very easy to operate.

When CW gave out $25 vouchers for filling out the survey, I used it to get the VKFX chorus and delay. I didn't need either of them, but it doesn't hurt to expand one's sonic palette with those the kinds of creative effects. Maybe you should think along those lines, perhaps a Dim Pro library or something.
