PCA2 T-Type Leveling Amp installation problem
I wrote this in the announcement thread, but realized it might be a while before anyone sees it there. Usually, my problems are simple to resolve and just something dumb I overlooked. So let's see: I'm scratching my head here -- I got the plug in, but I can't get the exe to work. Here's what I do: I download from another computer and carry it to my studio via thumb drive. I drag it onto the desktop. If I just double-click it from the desktop, it says the program is not compatible with my version of Windows (Win7). If I try to run as Administrator, it tries to open the file, and then says cannot find it, though it lists the right path! Anyone else have this trouble and know what to do?

Did you download the 32bit or 64bit windows installer? Make sure it matches your windows architecture. Cj

I only got the one link, so I'm scratching my head again -- how do I get a different one if I got the wrong one? Did I make that choice when I bought it? That would suck.. all the other PC inserts worked perfect but like I say, it's usually me overlooking something simple like that.

No, i was thinking there was a choice, but now that i think about it, there's not. Forget about that. Are you transering the zip file onto the thumb drive? Maybe you just need to download it form the pc your using. Nothing will happen if you connect your pc to the internet just for a download CJ

I don't get internet in my basement, unfortunately.. I would have to disconnect everything and truck it upstairs, and I really don't want to have to do that for all the obvious reasons. Btw, it doesn't come to me as a zip file, it downloads as an .exe.

There is only one version of the software. The cakewalk store checks your sonar x1 expanded version before you can download. The download I got was a setup file and not a .exe file. Maybe if you downloaded it on a usb stick and tried to install right from the stick. I also have windows 7 and had no problems with running the program Danny

My first download didn't work either, so I downloaded it again and the 2nd one worked. Does the file you're trying to run DEFINITELY have the .exe extension? If not, append it and try again, other than that, just download it again. I transferred mine from one pc to another on a ram stick without problems.

It did have the .exe, which is strange because it WASN'T the correct file. I found the problem -- for some reason, the stick I'm using saves two files. The first one shows up high in the list because it starts with a ._ but it isn't the actual file. I had to scroll down to see the real one.
